Unripe Strawberry
Savoring the raw sweetness
 filling my mouth,
 I continued to cherish
 the ripened strawberry,
 but as I inched forward,
 it got more bland,
 then even a little
 sour.
 But I kept on eating,
 hoping that it'd turn
 sweet again,
so it could be just like
 that unforgettable
 first bite,
 yet
 it never did;
 it just dwindled,
 and now I'm nauseous
 because it was
 so rotten
 in the end.
