The Oncoming Storm
A line in the Sand
The hot, sweltering sun
Shining down.
A picnic on the beach
Ants crawling across the blanket
Scurrying for a bit of food.
A giant up above
Watches the ants run
Amused at their fear.
A foot about to drop
About to crush their tiny lives
Meaningless in their insignificance.
The fear spreads
No one can stop it
An overwhelming tide of evil
But the One stands alone
Small and seemingly powerless,
Facing the Oncoming Storm
With reckless bravery and courage.
A David for every Goliath.
A Harry Potter for every Voldemort.
A Robin Hood for every Sheriff of Nottingham.
A Frodo Baggins for every Sauron.
The Opposing Sides,
Meeting only in war,
Fueled by hatred and wrath,
Armed with the fire of generations.
But tunnel’s end,
A light appears;
Giving life to that which was once thought dead,
Giving sanity to that which was once thought insane,
A realization:
That all war must end,
That all wounds must heal,
That all sins must be forgiven.
