I like to think I don’t care what people think of me
I like to think it doesn’t matter what they say
I like to think that they have something to say
But they probably don’t
You see I’m just another faceless body crammed in with too many others
Just another face they won’t remember
I‘m just another nobody who hides away in books
And poems
But they’ll never know that
Because they won’t ever look past the first glance
Give me a second chance
To prove that I can be
Anyone but me
And so I’m stuck here thinking
That it doesn’t matter
Thinking that my willpower can overcome millions of years of evolution
That I don’t need them
That they lost me
But they never
Even saw me
