The Roses Smelled So Sweet
The roses smelled so sweet,
Slightly damp from the previous rain,
The bud slowly unclasping,
As to welcome a new spring day.

Thorns to prick your skin,
The contagious air filled with pollen,
The excruciating work to weed.
Is it as sweet as it was before?
