See the distant land first
Hear the wind rushing fast
Feel a heavy vibration from the past
Notice the strong gusts at last
I love it here, in the air

Pull the release cord, no regard
Feel the backlash of the release
Resist the temptation to drop and re-plan
Bank right, not too steep and relish (the feeling)
I love it here, in the air

Pull out of the bank at 90 degrees
The tow plane already on final
Make lazy circles searching for thermals
Practice some stalls, feeling the G’s
I love it here, in the air

Two thousand feet above the ground
Better be ready, or I’ll be grounded for good
Right on time, check the wind and look around
Don’t miss the mark or I’ll be misunderstood
I love it here, in the air

Landed safely, without a scratch
A little long, but still a great night
A cart comes racing, running light (across the ground)
Finally the instructor comes in sight
I loathe it here, safe, on the ground

I love to just go up in the air every once in a while, but if anyone else does the same thing, note that I have not soloed yet. Still have someone more experienced sitting in the back.
