Memories of You

No Star could light this dark night
No river could quench this oceanic thirst
No tropical breeze could cool this fire
No lovers touch could please this lust
The worlds come from BOOM to BUST

The clouds wait to wash away
All the dust you blew my way
Toxic smog of looming trust
Which remains cracked,awaits just
A thought of your presence, the feel of your touch

Sharp edges of broken glass
Through which are seen
The stolen memories of the past
A broken promise
A lie or two
All that's left contains memories of you

This piece was inspired by a movie I watched. It was not about a heartbreak although it may seem so at first but actually about a husband leaving the family. The words and poetry is relative to lovers but in my poem it was a young girls feelings towards the loss of her father.
