The Impact
her rope is getting thinner and thinner
and my hope is growing small
no one knows
what type of switch
flipped in her brain,
she doesn’t see what everyone else sees
she’s lost in the ocean of unknown
she’s blind to her beauty
her face is constructed perfectly
with smooth perfect features
as beautiful as a spring flower in bloom
her eyes are blue as the ocean
and her smile from cheek to cheek
not just beautiful
but as sharp as a pencil
she never turned down anyone
you can’t do anything but envy her
yet the words of
imperfect and unappealing
cut into her mind
and ate at her brain
she tried so hard
to tell herself
with a broken down and beat up voice
to be happy and make herself believe
but nothing worked
she was falling off a sharp cliff
but she wasn’t the only one that was hurting,
everyone who loved her
was right behind her
no matter what we told her,
she always saw something different
with a wispy voice
the broken mirror screamed to her,
telling her she wasn’t good enough
the sweet bitterness of her mind
crushed everyone who cared
