Lena Duchannes
I am from lies and deceit nobody to trust, secrets hidden behind closed doors, things from the past pop up everywhere.
I am from stories told long ago to a child who didn’t know what lies ahead.
I am from poetry that lets me express my feelings when no one else understands.

I am from walls that change every day, never staying the same.
From everything changing with my emotions,
Ravenwood holds all my decisions.

I am from things lost and gained.
From love that made me sane.
Wate’s Landing possesses my most precious moments.

I am from things I cannot control, decisions to be made, my future depends on one night.
I am from green and yellow eyes that are embedded in my mind forever.
I am from moons that cast down light into my room and remind how long I have.

I am from lemon trees and rosemary.
From a locket long forgotten in a field of grass,
Greenbriar intrigues me with snippets of the past.

I am from ripped pages in a worn out notebook, black hair that swirls in the wind, and long, black dresses that pool at my feet.
I am from violin music as fluent as a river
I am from a mortal falling in love with a caster, me.

This is a I Am From poem that I wrote for the character, Lena Duchannes, in the book, Beautiful Creatures. If she was to write a poem, I believe that this is what it would sound like.
