What is all this on the news
I close my eyes and make it go away
but those kids in Syria can't do that
The women of the Congo have no where to go
North Koreans have no free will and
soon Russia will slip Ukraine a cyanide pill
and I’ll be going about my daily life
as if nothing has changed

I originally wrote this in the Autumn of 2013 after reading about the children who were killed in Syria. Then after three days of nonstop coverage it seemed that Syria was forgotten.
