Teeth
The threat lingers.
The wind blows stronger, colder.
Teeth that shouldn't exist scrape the skin at my neck.
I see it.
I see the danger
Face to face.
Two storms competing for dominance.
The wind turns to ice.
Slivers pierce skin.
Teeth bite harder,
Blood rushes to the wound.
I scream.
Just go away, teeth.
Go away, harsh wind.
Never visit me again.
I pull and tug,
Struggling
Gasping
Straining.
Then, I'm free.
The air is warm.
Only a light breeze blows.
Butterflies dance at the scar on my neck.
The air gets hot.
The sun burns my skin.
The butterflies shrivel to wrinkled corpses.
I miss the teeth.
The cold, harsh wind.
Teeth, come back.
Wind, just blow me away.
Can't I go back to yesterday?
