What if you were to kiss
Everyone you hated on the cheek?
How different the world
Might be.
And for every person you love-
You would tell them.

What if saying
"I love you"
Wasn't a crime?
But we as humans
Do not understand love,
Do not want love,
But, we need love.

For the girl that cries
In the bathroom every day,
Just hug her- and tell her-
She WILL GET THROUGH THIS.
You don't have to know her name.

To the girl who you call ugly;
She knows it-
...She knows it.
So that when the guy
Who sees her BEYOND her body
And STRAIGHT into her beauty
Wants to take her out
She says, "I can't".
She says, "I'm ugly".

To the nerdy guy
Who sits behind you in algebra,
Who you make fun of
For knowing all the answers,
Talk to him.
Because all he knows is data-
Numbers.
He doesn't know
What friendship is.
What a real family is.
How to act outside a classroom.
Because he has never had
One kind word
Spoken to him.

What if forgiveness
Replaced our bullets?
The world would house
Heroes instead of murderers.
What if our minds
Didn't automatically
Tattoo labels like:
Freak, Spas,
Whore, Gay,
Loser, Lesbian,
FatAss, or Retard
On our neighbors' heads?
What if?!

For the boy who falls asleep
In class,
Who you throw paper balls at,
Yell at,
And laugh at;
Do not mock him!
Do NOT mock him.
He's the boy who
Never has a bed
To go home to.

For the girl who sleeps around,
Who's only job is to please
The guys who ask her favors,
HELP HER see a better future.
Don't LET HER give up.

What if life gets better
As we get older?
What if death wasn't the easy out?
What if life was the key
To our success!
What if there was no suicide?
No drugs or alcohol?
No guns pointed at
Every
Single
One
Of our heads-
What if people had a DESTINY?
Something bigger than the now.
