Winter Days
Five o’clock in the morning, ring, ring, ring.
I knew what that meant and hopped out of bed!
The smell of hot cocoa filled the air.
The fireplace so warm, I had to sit there.
I asked mom if we could take out the sled,
Sure thing she said, “who do you want to bring”?
The thick white snow fell so fast,
It felt as if I was in a cool white land.
All the little kids running and playing
Jumping on their sleds and happily racing
Even though this day was unplanned,
I was thankful for it, because I had a blast.
