In the eyes of the world she was only a little girl,
but she knew inside she was filled with fire.
The Earth was growing within her.
Rivers were flowing through her veins.
The sun and moon were buried in her eyes.
The light shone out of them when she smiled.
Her words were laced with crisp winds.
To touch her was to touch cool slate.
Her eyes pulled the tides and her words rose the sun.
The top of her head was crowned with a ring of soft daisies.
Mist in the air settled around her, clinging to her skin.
Her fingernails were caked with mud.
She smelled of lavender, and her skin tasted like rain.
She was beautiful, beyond compare.
In her mind she was a part of the Earth.
She was a moon child filled with sun.
Her blood was full of fire and ice.
The heart inside her chest was speckled with stars.
They lit sparks in those she loved.
She was addicting, and he soaked her up when she was near.
She will forever be on his skin.
The smell of lilac will always tickle his nose, haunting him.
The taste of rain will never again be ordinary.
In most eyes she will always just be a little girl, but in his eyes she burned.
She will always burn, igniting the sky the way she lit his heart.

This piece just came to me. That's really all I can say about it. It's so closely linked with nature. It just felt very natural and real to write.
