The plane took off;
It was an ordinary day.
Nobody expected to be taken away.
"Lost at sea,"
Was what they said,
"And now we believe
That those people are dead."
How did it happen,
So many lives lost?
It was the choice of the pilots
To pay this high cost.
It must have been
Planned all along -
To take all those lives,
To keep their faith strong.
They never expected
What would happen that day.
Now the best we can do
Is to mourn and to pray.
It's a terrible thing
To have happened so fast,
The search party's no help -
The great ocean's too vast.
All in the world
Has been trying their best,
But now it is over
And we lay it to rest.
Nobody may ever
Know the whole truth.
What came of the innocent?
What came of the youth?
For such a loss,
The whole world is in tears,
For nothing like this
Has happened in years.
