Ode to my dog
You're in a better place, im sure
I just thought you already were...
The last time i saw you, that playful smile was forever washed off your face
and now in my car, you no longer race me with such grace.
I couldn't even say goodbye.
No matter how hard i cry.
But when they said you were “going to be fine” who could expect this?
All the sudden you had something the vets could “never fix”.
Having to make changes is hardest like calling one dog instead of two.
No more Little Bear,
only Blue.
As you're welcomed into heaven,
never forget me.
For I know in my heart I won’t forget the most loveable puppy that could ever be.
