The windows burst open,
Papers fly all around you.
Trees fall and thunder cracks.
Glasses slide and curtains flail.
Wind howls and the ceiling breaks.
Splinters swim all around you.
Doors blow open.
You are still.
Everything around you falls.
It's quiet as you look at the
Useless objects around you.
You fall apart
And join them in their death.
Before everything goes black,
You look at those objects
That held memories
And smile because
Even though the memories left
You got taken with them.

The author's comments:
I was sitting in my creative writing class and I didn't really have anything to write. I started thinking of random things like televison shows and I randomly thought about a documentary about tornadoes that I've watched with my mom once. I then wrote this poem in the point of view of someone who experienced a tornado and it kind of just flowed.
