The Adoption Game
Why did you pick me?
There are so many other children that deserve your love.
That deserve your support
Your everything.
You waited 13 years for a baby.
March 26, 1997 you finally got your wish.
But everything went down hill when I turned 13.
You wish for a redo.
If only you had just made it to the adoption center.
Would you still have gotten me?
Would you still have loved me?
I have so many questions.
All remain unanswered.
Why did you adopt me?
Why did you want someone that you loved for so long, then just let them go?
Was that your plan all along?
I bid you thanks for giving me the life that I now have.
I bid you thanks where they are most appropriate.
But I do not bid you thanks for leaving me alone.
Why did you play the adoption game if you knew you would let go when things got tough?
I just want to know why.
