The women aren’t allowed to shed but one tear.
Their eyes will never show us fear
They’re whipped to work till they bleed
They cannot even feed
They are supposed to be skin and bone
Their hearts as hard and cold as stone

But their hearts are fire
They’ll kill all the liars
Blazing, pumping vengeance through their veins
Their screams full of hatred and pain
The raging wind at their backs
The earth will start to crack

Icy cold depths of Hell
That’s where their captors fell
Freedom came in a warm welcome of light
No more reason to stay and fight
Their souls rest in the hearts of the brave
We’ll always remember what they gave

Essentially this poem challenges women's oppression. Written for my sister, this is an inspirational poem geared toward women to help them through hard times.
