Taboo
I’m watching
as you giggle with your
look-a-likes under the fluorescent
lights thats sheltering you from the cold
rainy atmosphere.
A pair of innocent red flats,
an ivory dress topped off
with a soft scarlet bow that
sits on top of your
uniform curls.
You gaze out the window to the park,
to my perfectly placed, firm wooden bench I find myself
planted on every morning.
My bitter heart warms with the view of your face filling
with a smile that nearly reaches each ear.
Your rosey cheeks on a
virgin complexion
excites me.
Thirty years ago I was sitting
just as you.
Subtracting of course the
feminine features you
portray beautifully.
Others poked
they all had found at least one
that struck their fancy,
I had no interest.
Now years later I found what
they saw so endearing
and with one gun on this one
gloomy day
I will capture the love that is now
mine.
