Childhood
Just a child, I thought
So I allowed her ignorance to encompass her
All her little squabbles and endless fights that I fought
But did it not ever occur?
That one day she'll emerge into maturity
I say that her ignorance was an escape
From her treacherous thoughts, and her obvious insecurity
But how will success take shape?
At the age of 15, still grasping Barbie dolls and girly dresses
Justified by bright colours and everything of youth
Her items, objects and past ; everything that she stresses
But her appearance and mental state became rather uncouth
As she stayed at home, loitering away with litter on the ground floor
I sat beside her in the heap of comfort and love
Even though, her eyes showed me sadness and sadness is what I saw
But I stole her happiness and crushed that love, replacing it with something up above.
