Monster
We remain in a world,
Divided.
Simply tales of what is,
The wrong and the right.
Two that will never coexist,
Blackest night and whitest light.
Were never meant to be,
never allowed,
Bliss.
Black feathers stain the crystal snow,
Starving out its innocence.
She stands in fields of white,
The Daughter of smoke,
Carver of bone,
Stealer of light.
Skin in shades of moonshine,
As goddesses of old.
Her feathers stretched,
Like a shadowing flame,
Embracing the harsh cold.
Horns curved atop her head.
In twisted black ivory.
Noble like a stags,
But beautiful a doe.
Silent eyes shine against blank canvas,
Water after rain.
He appears like sunlight,
Feathers shining,
Like stars scattered across the night.
Swift,
With wings wafting,
Singing lovely melodies.
Skin struck white,
Cold as marble.
Statuesque grandeur,
A painful marvel.
They are enemies,
From battles begun,
in times long gone,
Armies lost,
No war won.
They met once,
A battle field in flames.
Where she should have left him,
Wounded and frail,
Ignoring wars many rules
She asked for a name.
A lovely one it was.
A life saved,
A love born,
Can there be love,
From war?
She flies to him with glee,
His smile strong,
But blackened eyes so bare.
She is a monster,
A creature of sin,
To love?
How could she dare?
He an angel,
Pure in form,
Created for beauty,
Created for bliss.
She never even suspected it,
Chains surround her wrists,
If demons don't feel pain,
Why does she scream?
Fight or flight,
Wake up child,
It’ll all just be a dream.
Instincts bubbling to the core.
Angels surround her,
Shackling her down.
Tears lace her lashes,
Like liquid gold,
She fades into herself.
Like the snow,
growing cold.
Her wretched shape,
Flowing inward.
She stares into his empty eyes,
Begging questions,
But never for release.
And always too proud to ever say “Please”
He traces her shackles,
The metal smooth upon her skin,
Laughing like a raggedy herd of jackals
As he leans in close.
“Monster”
As he ripped her wings,
Her eyes watched,still as stone
As her soul was torn,
From blood, body and bone.
Many try and many fail,
Word by word,
Tale by tale.
Demons are where sin begins,
One love lost,
But a battle to win.
With foolish love her only sin.
Never cowering,
Speaking only with broken eyes,
Her prize?
A soldier's execution.
For she was a monster,
All demons are unstable,
Not even she,
Was savable,
Why do they forget?
Lucifer was once an angel.
We remain a world divided,
What is wrong,
What is right.
Heavy is the soul,
That wins the fight.
Blackest night,
Whitest light.
