"I will destroy you in the most beautiful way possible and when im finished, you will finally understand why storms are named after people."

A box
under the kitchen sink.
Where two hundred years ago
a garden used to be.
A box full of bones,
missing a spine.
no story, no note.
A box full of bones
featuring a necklace
and lies.

I trusted him
for the purpose
of love,
he pretended to love me,
for the purpose
of science.
He kissed me,
and made me gifts,
and made me feel
like I was beautiful.
But he just wanted to
see my abnormalities
and what was going on
inside of me
and my bones.
I knew that I would never be loved.
I was a slave girl.
Now I’m in a box.

The author's comments:
I'm in a play this year about a hunchback girl who falls for a man with a heart of science, and is heartbroken to the point of suicide and then autopsied for the sake of seeing her back by the man whom she thought loved him. This was based off of that play, and the feelings that my character had at the time of her suicide.
