Tree of Knowledge
I've been poisoned
By the tree of knowledge
Because it claims to speak the truth
But still no truth is present
I wonder how long will it take my ears
To bow to their lies
Like all the others
Who stood for truth
They have taken away
My oxygen
But yet I still manage to breath
In, life
When will love conquer all?
The deception that they hurled
At me
Obstacles so everlasting
It gets tiresome after a while
Protecting a nation from its greed
Yet they force me on
My knees
Just because I have
No sense of judgment
No moral compose
No soul
And no compassion
Doesn't mean I give into temptation
That easily
So let them play
On my playground
Let the children
Dance
On my floors
And let their parents
Wallow
In the self pity
I left for them
Let them cut
Their wrists with
The very knife I gave them
And when they ask why?
Why I did this
Why I let their children free
I'll tell them of America
Who supplies guns to its children
But tells them not to use them.
Who lathers their children in violence
But tells them to be weary of love.
Who thinks it knows
How to solve the world’s problems
When America barely knows
How to solve her own.
