she arrives and dips her
world in green, and breathes in
life, fills it with petals and allergies
and gardens.
she swoops in and scorches her
land, the sands burning beneath
naked feet, the sound of the ocean so loud,
and laughter at the beach.
he settles down and embraces his
home, death claiming the branches and brittle
leaves, turning the world into orange and yellow as
everything falls.
he looms overhead and kisses his
children, sweet, whitened fingertips brushing
