Space Heater

The moaning hums of the heater
fill my personal space with warmth.
Isn't that what this is?
My space
My universe

The outer limits (walls)
filled with memories of the past,
filled with bits and pieces of images that define personality
floating around.
Making me, me.

The planets (floors)
scattered with what I put on my body,
scattered with artifacts of the day,
floating around.
Making me, me.

The stars (lamps)
illuminate my studies,
illuminate my art,
revealing my passions.
Making me, me.

So then there's me,
the center of this chaotic space,
this personal universe.
Making me,
the Sun.

I was inspired to write this piece when I was sitting at my desk looking all around my room and listening to my obnoxiously loud space heater.
