I will never forget
the long nights with constant tears burning on my bare skin
I’m done with all that
done with you having to make your own son
become afraid of you
let me tell you this
you your words and lies
don’t scare me anymore
now that I see the real you
you’re a stranger to me and your family
we don’t know who you are anymore
I was there for my brother
having to wrap my arms around his small frame
It makes me realize
you were never there for him
or for us
so don’t come back saying
that you desperately need us
It didn’t seem like it when you were still around
you left and all your memories stayed behind
what happened to the loving father you once were
you probably don’t remember anymore but for me
I will never forget
