Child's Play
Once upon a time,
There was a little girl who played with dolls
in a big dollhouse.
She used to wear her hair in a long braid down her back
and she didn't care when it got tangled.
She played pretend with the neighbors and dreamed of growing up.
And one day,
once upon a time,
she did.
And now the dollhouse is gone,
and she uses pencils to
hold up her hair
and in place of her dollhouse,
there's a nightstand.
And in the nightstand,
there's a pair of scissors
stained with red.
She plays pretend
quite differently now days.
