Music is the most powerful thing in society
It has the power to unite a nation, a Christian and Muslim, a north state and south state, rival schools, or two friends
Music is the melody of hope
The words of our souls
The symbol of our individualism
Music doesn’t discriminate; it doesn’t care if you’re black, white, catholic, Jewish, sick, healthy, old, or young
Music finds a way into our bloodstream and travels up to our heart
When a song touches your soul, your heart and mind completely succumb to its power
It encompasses you, like a snake circling around and squeezing its prey, until finally you have no choice but to give into the enchanting spell of the song
Why are we so susceptible to these melodies?
Maybe it’s because for a moment, we can escape our harsh realities
Or the opposite; we can relate a song to our lives and feel that, for a moment, we are not alone in our situation
Music provides hope that our slowly crumbling world still has a chance for peace
