Shooting Stars
It’s funny how we forget
 Where we really are
 On this tiny little planet
 Surrounded by vast black space
 Filled with the unknown

 Planets, stars, black holes
All things that could destroy our home
 In a mere instant
Nothing we could do to avoid it

 I guess we’ve all accepted
That the outside world isn’t in our control
So we don’t pay much attention to it
 In our everyday life

 Sure we celebrate solar eclipses
And watch the stars at night
 But we keep living everyday
In ignorance of what’s truly around us
