Come here my son,
And tell your father goodbye.
Listen to me talk,
Before I pass on and die.

Go out my son, for life is still there.
There is so much left for you to learn,
So many lessons in this world.
So many stones, yet unturned.

Take care of your mother,
You’re all that she has,
Give her some grandchildren,
Be a good dad.

Leave a mark on the world.
Don’t die quiet and alone.
Don’t shy away from risk,
let chance strengthen your bones.

Be good for me son,
I’m proud of the man you have become.
I hope that you will be good for me.
I pray you are the best, no other worthy to your sum.

Goodbye my son,
I love you more than you know.
Take my hand, like I took yours,
When your life started to grow.

From one generation to another,
Life will always go on.
Keep going, dear boy.
When I am dead and gone.
