A stretched room
built up by pounds of concrete
filled with swarming bodies
crowding this immense space
and I stand
with both feet locked to the cold tiles
losing my mind in the unbearably noisy moments
were voices are attempting to fill my ears
with nonsense
nonsense that means too much now
and I hope that if you glance at me
you'll see my sunken cheeks
or remark upon the red that is sprawling
out of my greened irises
maybe you'll notice the trembling
of my fingers
or the way my hands clench onto my sides
aiming to subside the pain
bleeding out of my stomach
but no
all you see is a girl
who spread some makeup over her boiling pours
to cover the bruises
who threw on some nice clothes
bought with the money that shes now stripped of
and thoroughly regrets
a smile plastered onto my lips
keeping the public eye
from witnessing the dying girl
that lies inside
this manicured bag of bones
