In the kitchen miracles take place
plenty of cups, plenty of plates
you will hear them rattle when mom's ready
about twenty minutes ago, my sis smelled spaghetti
mouths watering, people taking their seats
daddy is shouting "there better be meat!"
we gather together and say our prayers
time to dig in, forks clanking everywhere
