Things I wish I knew at age 14
Don’t talk to people after 3am,
Because your darkest secrets come out then.
Don’t fall for the girl with hazel eyes,
Don’t get caught up in all her lies.
Know when to compromise,
Yet know when it’s time to say your goodbyes.
Don’t station your self-worth off of what base you’ve reached,
Always practice what you preach.
Love yourself for who you are,
Don’t let your scars keep you from going far.
The past may hurt but don’t let it make you an introvert.
Your friends are true they’re there to help you make it through.
Your mom is not your competition,
She just wants you to have the highest ambition.
The world is not against you,
You’ll only get as far as you allow yourself to.
Your future is entirely in your hands,
Yet don’t try and alter fates plans.
