Shadows
Shadows are mysterious
They come and go as they please
They may make you delirious with their mysterious ways
Shadows will never burn or freeze
Their only life comes from the sun
They will never run
And when night falls they are done with the day
They will never have anything to say
For shadows have no free will
They only do as you wish
They’ll appear large as hills
They’ll appear as small as fish
You can’t step on a shadow for it feels no pain
It never has anything to gain
They adapt to their surroundings and make strange arrangements
They sometimes make for strange entertainment
Shadows can be dark as the midnight sky
Or never be seen on dark and dreary day
Shadows might even go awry
They may appear on quite far away
Shadows can be over ten feet tall
Or they can be very, very small
Shadows don’t have to be cast by you
They are cast by objects too.
