My muse
I have never felt comfortable with wanting
 things I cannot have -
You are hers and not mine
 But I wonder
is she good for you like I would be?

I fall in love with you more every day
 Like gifts on Christmas
I’m adding up the things about you
that keep me awake at night

    I. You’re an insufferable know-it-all
    II. Dimples
III. A faith that matches mine
IV. Eyes lit by a passion well beyond your years
    V. A thirst for knowledge
VI. You laugh at my favorite jokes
VII. A heart that beats with unfailing kindness

There are so many things you could teach me
 I could do the same.
You made the blood in my fingers begin to flow again
Shook up the snow globe in my head,
settling fairy dust on my brain

 You are perfect for me
 But also;
 You are hers
