sometimes he felt suspended in some lucid state of not either

there or here
?or then or now.

??sometimes he felt like he had been plucked out of one existence and placed into another without any actual coherent understanding of

one or the other,
lost in some conglomerate of ??

both and neither.??

sometimes he felt like he was caught on some middle ground of two eras, barely a foothold on each,

on a rocky terrain that was crumbling from underneath him, splitting apart his whole entire being until he could barely support the burden of anachronism-

??and his middle ground became some middle underground.??

(it was all too fitting, really)??

but most times, he just felt old.

I suppose I was inspired by a person who just seemed out of the teen loop, like placed next to it all, but just looking on. This person's old soul sometimes displaces them from other youths, so that always intrigued me.
