The American Life
Don't you hear the little girl weeping?
She's just five you know.
She thought her dad was just sleeping.
No one knew it was his time to go.
Don't you see the little boys scars?
From the hand that struck his face.
His mother should be put behind bars.
But there's no other evidence for them to trace.
Can you feel that poor girls pain?
As she searches for love, and joy.
But soon she begins to strain.
And all she has left is her baby boy.
A man with his child.
All alone as he struggles in life.
The doctors thought the cancer was mild.
But he ended up losing his wife.
As hurt begins to shatter our Nation.
As kids are turning into rebels
and giving into temptation.
Yet we just sit here and ocasionally tremble?
