Puddle of Fire

Blood quickly oozes from the bulls wound.
It paints the mountain with each step.
Elk erupt from all around,
They run for the dark timber.
A puddle of fire where the bull stopped.
One final break on the way to his bed.
He lies under a tall pine,
Hide coated with blood thicker than on my arrow.
