On a night with a pitch black sky
no one expects any light
no, the moon is round and silver
not grey
a wolf howls at the full moon
loud and clear
the stars blinking on and off
as if a ship is sending out an SOS
the wind ruffles the trees
whistling eerily in the night
a cat prowls the coast
leaping back every time the water touches its toes
like a silhouette a figure walks
is it a person?
no, my dear friend, it is a spirit from the past,
enjoying midnight like the rest
