If hope could be a color
It would be a collage of sunset tone
As soft as a lightning bolt
If hope could be a taste
It would be my grandmother's applesauce
If hope could be a smell
It would be tear as engulfing rioters as they fight for a cause
If hope could be a sound
It would be a train as it powers down the track
If hope could be a feeling
It would be the warm embrace of my mother's arms
If hope could be an animal
It would be an eagle as it glides into the sunrise.
