Goodbye
Family all around me
Faces are filled with tears
As all look inside that light blue casket
All I feel is my sister’s arms around me
Holding me tight
As we listen to our little sister keep saying
“Wake Up Daddy.”
His pale face was too much to bare.
Knowing this was the last time I’d see my best friend
As his favorite song plays in the background,
I sit her wondering “Why”
My little brother in my lap, as I try to tell him it’ll be okay
Even though we both knew it was a lie
The stench of death curls in my nose, as I realize it’s the end
All those memories begin to fade away
As I wave goodbye to my life and my best friend
Goodbye
We will meet again someday
