False hope enters the dark, silent yet lively room
A woman sat promptly beside a table
Glass shaped in a ball.
Circled constantly by moving hands
and thus, the session began

Eyes gazed upon the crystal ball, hope awaited
A woman dressed in black began her role
A ball suddenly glowing with eyes still upon
Words spoken of the future and all it upheld

Delight and despair these souls gained from words
For a future with joy was said to occur
The scam has begun.
Eyes rolled far back she continued to speak
The lies seemed to grow till the peek was surely reached
Disbelief replaced hope and now without pay for the week
Deception, Deception and lies all unique.

The life of a fortune teller is what I'd hope one would have a better understanding of after reading. What inspired me to make this poem would be the picture of a lady with a crystal ball.
