The phone
a simple thing
that society
depends so much upon.

Checking
and rechecking
over and over
again.

Texting, talking
how did we ever survive
before?
This wonderful invention
that we all adore.

I’ll tell you how.
We talked face to face and
wrote letters back and forth.
