BEING IN ANOTHER CHILD'S SADNESS
I look in the mirror
To see myself
I touch my face and see
My eyes are black and blue
They shed sadness
For every time you hurt me
With those unforgiving words that are as sharp as steel
Cutting me like a scissor cuts paper,
Split into two perfect pieces
Yet divided as to never come back together
But just remember that when you say those things to me
You are breaking me
Piece by piece
Like if I was an object and not a human being.
You don't know how I feel day by day
Broken, untouchable, unrecognized, unloved, and dehumanized
For every word you say it is like a knife stabbing my heart.
