Memorable

I want to be the class president. I want
to be the dropout.

I want to be the girl who
sat patiently and observed
I want to be the girl who
she used to observe.

I want to be the girl who drank
everything and dated everyone.

I want to be the girl who got hooked
on painkillers and moved away.

I want to be the girl who woke up
at 4am every morning to go swim in the lake
down the hill.

I want to be the girl whose life is something more than ordinary.

I want to be the prom queen. I want
to be the theif.

I want to get something out of life that no-one else has.

I want to be the med student. I want
to be the basket case.

I don't aim to be remarkable. I just need to be remembered.

When I wrote this poem, I intended it to be all on the surface, so I'd like it to speak for itself.
