Blank Canvas
I was born when the leaves were falling
From the trees on a breezy October day.
I was like a blank canvas.
Since that very day, I was painted on,
By everyone who had come and gone.
I was motivated to live life to the fullest because
I wanted to show everyone who had helped me,
Who I would become to be.
The shy colors didn't show very well,
And the insecurities of myself couldn't fit in, I could tell.
I was hopeful for a new found confidence,
It came along after I found my intelligence.
I became courageous and met new people,
Who said I was funny, caring, and thoughtful
And I was honest when I said they were the same.
My dreams made me energetic,
And my imagination brought me creativity and joy.
My hard work had paid off and there was only one stroke on that canvas.
Now I am like a masterpiece,
Beautiful and ready for the next brush of fate.
