The Broken Swing
Bad day
Nerves are wrecked
Body aches
Her baby asks for more each day
She wants this, she wants that
She cant supply her baby another strand
Money's tight
Stress is high
Bills are piling
Smiles are dying
Her baby cant stay home today
Or tomorrow, or else she'll break
Work is long
Hands are tough
Crevices mark her finger tips
Her brain is jumbled
Her memory is gone
Where's her baby!? And who is she with!?
She just cant take it
Life's not worth living, when you're living like this
So she spits her anger into her baby's soul
Words of anger, and stress, and nerves she can't control
She doesn't mean it, her baby knows
Still her eyes swell with tears she always holds
"You're heartless"
"You're stupid"
"Your just an ugly mess"
She cultivates a seed of distress
In her baby's heart
That she soon regrets
She spends her days on a swing of emotion
Loving her baby, and slapping her the next
