before it hit me

like an electromagnet was pulling you, a giant
force of adventure
the need for fast loud alive alight insane and unseen
fearless you threw
yourself at an invisible wall
going ninety in a fifty-five world
and I am imagining the elation of that speed
and the inevitability of disaster
like the very best high
knowing that yesterday could have been
the day that you died
the total freedom thast you felt
I am not sorry for you , my friend, this was
exactly the thing you needed
to survive

This is just pouring with real concern and love for this person. I wish this person the best and for all this person's loved ones. Honestly. It's a tough situation to be in. As for the poem, I know some readers might think wow, she's a b*tch at the end. But I don't see it that way. You know it's tough love. Sometimes we all need these tough reality checks to prevent us from ending our lives. Fortunately, your friends is alive. And I'm happy for that. Awesome poem, as always.
