All the insignificance, trepidation and blur
Is but a figment of a mind unconvinced
And what lies beneath the peach flesh is the morsel of a soul worth being
Rummaging through backpacks late nights of thinking too heavily and breathing too deeply
Stirred up in the unpredictable
Sacrificing the impending for the now
I want to sail the seas and scream out the music
Let it seep through yearning pores and ecstatic veins
But distance speaks of oceans my love
And all that is a dream
Is only that
And all that could be
Is only the route of another’s path
Another’s journey
Someone else’s destination, someone else’s hunger
Just another life not lived
And each moment teases swiftly on
Beaten down by anything worth beating
Moving on with anything worth moving
And living with only the sanction of the past and potential future
But the moment is bare
Unpredictable
Still
But not still enough
Because nothing claiming perfection ever is
Cold, ruptured, morbid clocks
And time that trickles and mopes and cries’ for attention
Minutes become numbers
And we watch the conversion of our youth
Until all that was can never be again and all that will become never was
And so too the illusion of time will pass on
And we will pass on
But with what
A will, a family
A fabricated meaning
DNA, The naïve dwelling of the sense that we will be remembered
Idolized
But soon my love the flowers will stop coming
Your tome will be unadorned
Just dust and dirt and insects
And they will eat at your once peach flesh
They will steal your limbs
And even they will seldom visit
So shortly after
You too will be unaccounted for
And your name will remain only the sketch on your grave
Dead
But now my love you live
You live and you breathe and you are
So be
Be all that is, and can be, and has been
And let the air delight your skin
Let its existence intertwine your own
While disregarding the humble mask you tie to your skull
Cars screeching by; you hear expiration
Stop signs purr and wait and linger but remain forgotten
So neglect instilled distress that this is not forever
Foolish thought; if there ever was
And just remember my love
Nothing is forever
But the moment itself
