It Was a Normal Day

Earth was burning
Before that... we were fighting for our lives.
Before that... our armies were crushed.
Before that... the cities were burning.
Before that... our navy was routed.
Before that... we fought for hope.
Before that... the skies were filled with debris and reeked of death.
Before that... an unknown onslaught attacked earth.
Before that... the sky was blue.
before that... it was a perfect day.
before that... I left for work.
before that... I smiled as my children ran to school.
